Zephyrs' Mistakes Lead to Tough Loss in the Springs

Colorado Springs, CO -The Colorado Springs Sky Sox evened the series with a 7-5 win over the visiting New Orleans Zephyrs on Friday at Security Service Field.

Pedro Hernandez (3-0) pitched six innings allowed one run on five hits and earned the win.

The Sox offense took advantage of three Zephyr errors. The Z's entered the game with the league's best fielding percentage .983 but for the second consecutive game made three errors. The mistakes led to four unearned runs in the game.

Colorado Springs Angelys Nina picked up two RBI in the game and Jason Pridie homered for the Sox.

The Z's offense pounded out 11 hits led by Josh Rodriguez three hits. Rodriguez batted in the ninth with two outs and two men on and struck-out on a fastball from Chad Bettis. Bettis earned the save.

Bryan Evans (4-2) took the defeat snapping a three game win streak.

GAME NOTES

The Z's tied a season high with three errors. Justin Bour has doubled in eight of his last 12 games and leads the team with 16 doubles.
