COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado -- Jason Alfaro drove home the go-head run in the 10th inning as the New Orleans Zephyrs defeated the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, 4-2 on Saturday afternoon in Colorado Springs.
Alfaro forced home Henri Stanley, who had doubled and reached third on a wild pitch, with a fielder's choice and Dave Matranga followed with an RBI single to give New Orleans a two-run lead. Colin Porter, who went 4-for-5, launched a solo shot in the seventh inning and added a run-scoring single in the eighth, tying the game at 2-2.
Kirk Bullinger (1-2) allowed one hit in two shutout innings to pick up the win for New Orleans, which improved to 8-6 on the road. Garrett Atkins singled and stroked an RBI double for Colorado Springs. Vic Danrensbourg (0-1) surrendered two runs and three hits in one inning to take the loss for the Sky Sox, who had a three-game winning streak come to an end.
