
Zephyrs Begin Eight-Game Homestand Tomorrow

Metairie, LA - The New Orleans Zephyrs will kick off an eight-game homestand on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., when they welcome the Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, to Zephyr Field.
The Zephyrs currently sit in second place the Pacific Coast League American South Division, 3.5 games behind Oklahoma. The Zephyrs conclude an eight-game trip through the Pacific Northwest on Monday, when they try to salvage the series finale against the Portland Beavers. Recent acquisition Valentino Pascucci, last year's PCL home run champion, hit his first home run as a Zephyr on Sunday, one of three for the team on the afternoon.
The series pitching matchups are as follows:
Tuesday 7 pm vs. Fresno: RH Tony Armas (1-2) vs. RH Julio Mateo (1-3) Wednesday 7 pm vs. Fresno: RH Ruddy Lugo (3-1) vs. RH Brooks McNiven (0-0) Thursday 7 pm vs. Fresno: RH Claudio Vargas (0-1) vs. RH Victor Santos (2-0) Friday 7 pm vs. Fresno: RH Brian Stokes (3-3) vs. TBA
The traditional post-game fireworks show will follow Friday's contest, ushering in a busy weekend of promotions. The Sacramento RiverCats invade Zephyr Field on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in a rematch of last year's PCL Championship Series. Early-arriving fans will receive "Vote Boudreaux '08" campaign posters, and the night will begin with the induction of the Class of '08 to the New Orleans Professional Baseball Hall Of Fame. Bark In The Park returns for Sunday's 2:00 p.m. start, as fans can bring their favorite canine to the ballpark and sit on the levee. There will also be a flower giveaway in honor of Mother's Day.
