
Jody Gerut Named Batter Of The Week

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Pacific Coast League today named Portland outfielder Jody Gerut its Batter of the Week for the span inclusive of April 28-May 4.
Gerut batted .462 (12-for-26) with four home runs, two doubles, five walks, seven RBIs, 13 runs scored and a 1.000 slugging percentage in seven games played during the week. Further, Gerut is 20-for-40 (.500) over his last 12 games to raise his average from .192 to .326.
In 24 games with Portland this season, Gerut is batting .326 (30-for-92) with eight doubles, two triples, five home runs, 13 walks, 21 runs scored, three stolen bases and 16 RBIs.
Gerut is the first Portland player to garner a PCL weekly award since outfielder Terrmel Sledge was the PCL Batter of the Week for Aug. 14-20, 2006.
Round Rock's Runelvys Hernandez was named the PCL Pitcher of the Week today after going 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA (0er, 12.0ip) and seven strikeouts in two starts last week.
