Zaleski No-Hits Jackals through Six Innings, Colonials Win 4-2

Pittsfield, MA - Starting pitcher Kyle Zaleski threw six no-hit innings against the New Jersey Jackals to lead the Pittsfield Colonials to a 4-2 win at Wahconah Park on Monday afternoon.

Zaleski, who went eight-plus innings allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits, three walks, and four strike-outs, did not allow a hit until Jacob Butler's lead-off infield single in the top of the seventh inning. Reliever Raymond Cruz, (2) earned his team leading second save of the season, nailing down the final three outs of the ninth inning.

Colonials' designated hitter Dan Carte (1-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) came through with the game winning two-run home run, his league leading eighth of the season and team high 30th RBI, to not only propel the Colonials to victory but also extend his league leading hitting streak to 25 consecutive games in his final at-bat. Second baseman Danny Bomback (2-for-4, 2B, RBI) collected to hits in the game and had the only other RBI for the winners.

Jackals' starting pitcher A.J. Wideman factored in a no-decision going five innings while allowing one run. Reliever mike Pontius (0-2) took the loss in two-thirds of an inning, giving-up three runs (two earned) on three hits..

The Colonials will play the final game of the series with New Jersey on Tuesday evening at 7:05pm, when righty Miguel Flores (2-3) takes the ball against New Jerseys' Dan Griffin (1-2).
