SUGAR LAND, Texas - Infielder Delwyn Young tied the all-time home run record in Skeeters history as Sugar Land flew past the Long Island Ducks, 4-2. The win bolsters the Skeeters' record to 11-14 in the second half and 47-48 overall.

Young posted his sixth, three-hit game of the season, including his second in the last three games. He made history in the bottom of the seventh, launching his 28th-home run in a Skeeters uniform and tying Josh Pressley for the all-time mark.

Starting pitcher Roy Merritt hurled his ninth-straight quality start, throwing 7.0 strong innings. The southpaw improved to 5-3 on the year after allowing two runs on five hits with a walk. He matched a season-high with seven strikeouts in the winning effort.

The Skeeters jumped on Ducks starter Ian Marshall early in the game to stake an early lead. Amadeo Zazueta singled into the shallow alley in right-centerfield before Delwyn Young pulled a double down the right field line into the corner. Zazueta scored easily, sending Sugar Land ahead, 1-0.

After not allowing a hit one turn through the lineup, Roy Merritt ran into trouble in the top of the fourth. Fehlandt Lentini picked up the first hit for the Ducks with a leadoff single into center. The ensuing pitch, he was thrown out trying to steal second. Delta Cleary, Jr., worked a walk and Dan Lyons reached on a fielder's choice, erasing the walk, but Cody Puckett ripped a two-out double into left to tie the game. Bryan Sabatella singled into shallow right-center, allowing Puckett to score and give the Ducks a 2-1 lead.

Sugar Land used a pair of free passes to reclaim the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Jeff Dominguez and Zazueta drew back-to-back one out walks. Young picked up his second RBI of the night with a single through the right-side, plating Dominguez and moving Zazueta to third. Chris Wallace lifted a sacrifice fly to right, reclaiming the lead for the Skeeters, 3-2.

With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Young made Skeeters history with a solo-blast to left. The infielder took J.C. Romero's 2-2 offering to the Wells Fargo Picnic Plaza to tie the all-time record in Sugar Land history. His 28 long balls in a Skeeters uniform match Josh Pressley's mark and extended the lead to 4-2. The blast was Young's eighth of the season and first since July 4.

Derrick Loop picked up his team-high 10th-save of the season with a perfect ninth inning. The southpaw induced a pair of groundouts to short to close out the game after striking out the leadoff batter.
