The York Revolution pulled off their biggest comeback win of the season to notch their sixth consecutive victory at Santander Stadium with a 6-5 win over the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs on Wednesday evening to kick off an eight-game homestand. The Revs improve to 13-12 in the second half and pull within three games of first place in the Freedom Division. The two teams will square off again on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

York came back from a pair of deficits to win on Wednesday night, including an initial 4-0 hole.

The comeback began as York scored for the first of four consecutive innings in the bottom of the fourth, with some franchise history made in the process. Andres Perez got York on the board with a no-doubt solo homer to deep left-center, cutting the deficit to 4-1. It was Perez' record 400th hit all-time with York, becoming the first Revs batter to reach the milestone, while also tying former teammate Scott Grimes for second on the franchise's all-time home runs list with his 45th.

York continued to claw back in the bottom of the fifth. Luis De La Cruz led things off with a single up the middle and Jose Constanza followed with a base hit to shallow right-center, putting runners at the corners. A ground out by Wilson Valdez would drive home De La Cruz making it a 4-2 game.

The Revs tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Mikey Reynolds drew a one-out walk and Perez (3-for-4) followed with an RBI double to the gap in right-center, bringing York within a run and ending the night of Crabs starter Brian Grening. Reliever Trey Barham recorded the second out, but allowed a game-tying RBI single to right from De La Cruz (3-for-4), as the Revs came all the way back to tie it at 4-4.

Southern Maryland retook the lead in the top of the seventh. Jovan Rosa worked a leadoff walk and Jamar Walton singled to left to set the table. Reliever Ron Schreurs took over and initially walked Keith Castillo to load the bases with no outs. Schreurs retired Casey Frawley on a fly out to shallow left, before allowing a soft grounder to second by Antone DeJesus, producing the go-ahead run to give the Crabs a 5-4 lead. Schreurs (2-0) then retired Fred Lewis on a chopper up the middle with a great play made by shortstop Wilson Valdez cutting in front of second to keep it a one-run game.

The Revs responded right away in the bottom of the seventh as Constanza drag bunted for a first pitch single. Valdez then sacrifice Constanza to second before Eric Patterson drew his club record-tying fourth walk of the night. Constanza stole third base, before scoring the tying run on a sac fly to right by Brandon Boggs. With two outs, Patterson stole second and scored as Bryan Pounds lined an RBI single to right for the 6-5 lead.

Ty'Relle Harris bridged the lead to the ninth with a perfect inning in the eighth.

Stephen Penney claimed his fourth save of the season with a scoreless ninth. Rosa led off with a base hit to right-center, but York's battery of Penney and De La Cruz teamed up for a huge strikeout-throw-out double play, as Penney whiffed Walton and De La Cruz hosed pinch-runner Anthony Vega for the first two outs. Penney then retired Castillo on a groundout to second to secure the victory.

Southern Maryland drew first blood in the top of the third on a two-out RBI double to left by Rosa. The Blue Crabs then smacked the Revs with a three-run fourth inning, chasing starter Matt Neil who uncharacteristically struggled with his control. The rally began as Frawley doubled to right-center with one out and took third on a wild pitch. DeJesus then ripped an RBI single past Neil who was forced to duck. Lewis bunted for a base hit and Casey Stevenson walked to load the bases. Zach Wilson drove a sac fly to right, increasing the lead to 3-0. With two outs, Jake Opitz walked to reload the bases, and Rosa walked to force in a run, as Neil's night concluded with a fifth free pass. The right-hander entered the night having issued just 1.8 walks per nine innings for the season.

Southern Maryland reliever Orlando Santos (3-3) suffered the loss, allowing an inherited run as well as the go-ahead run in the seventh inning.

Notes: The six-game home winning streak is the longest active home streak in the league, and the Revs' longest at home since winning six straight, June 27-July 2, 2014. York improves to 10-2 in one-run games at home. Patterson's four walks tie a club record for the fourth time, joining Ramon Nivar and Luis Cotto who both drew four walks in a game during the 2007 season and Chad Tracy who most recently did it on September 13, 2013 at Sugar Land. With a two-RBI night, Perez now has 14 RBI over his last 10 games and 9 RBI over his last five games. The four-run comeback eclipses the Revs' previous high of coming back from down three runs in a 4-3 victory last Tuesday at Southern Maryland. York lefty Rommie Lewis (7-7, 3.67) will face Southern Maryland southpaw Brian Burres (5-6, 3.31) on Thursday evening which is Community Courier Night at Santander Stadium. Tickets are on sale at YorkRevolution.com, (717) 801-HITS, and in-person at the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office.
