Young Homers, Again, but Senators Lose 8-4

Los Playeros de Harrisburg led 4-2 into the seventh inning but couldn't hold the lead in an 8-4 loss to Erie Saturday night at FNB Field. Andrew Young homered in the fourth inning, a solo shot, to give Harrisburg a 4-2 lead. He has now homered in four straight games. Erie, though, rallied for three runs in the seventh and three in the ninth to slide past Harrisburg.

Ronald Herrera started and tossed six solid innings. He allowed just two runs on six hits, striking out four and not walking a batter. Gerardo Carrillo took the loss, going one-third of an inning and allowing three runs. Andrew Lee followed and went 1.2 scoreless innings. Garvin Alston made his double-A debut for Harrisburg and allowed three runs in the ninth inning on three hits.

Harrisburg had seven hits and went 1-for-4 with runners in scoring position. Young also drove in two with a double in the third inning giving the Senators a 3-2 lead. Israel Pineda hit his seventh home run since joining Harrisburg. He's also driven in 21 runs in 24 games with Harrisburg.

Erie has won three out of five this week and look for a series win with a win tomorrow. Erie began the day trailing Bowie by one game in the standings.
