Bridgewater, New Jersey - The Somerset Patriots (72-46) buried the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (52-67) by a score of 5-2 on Saturday night behind another dominant starting pitching performance.

Yankees No. 9 prospect Clayton Beeter made his fourth start for the Patriots since being acquired at the trade deadline. Beeter worked a career-high 4.1 innings, striking out a career-high nine batters in a no decision.

Beeter gave up his first run of the season (since being acquired by Somerset) in the fourth inning, on a home run by Will Robertson. This was the only hit allowed by Beeter.

Through four starts with the Yankees organization, Beeter now owns a 0.77 ERA, 0.77 BAA, 0.69 WHIP and 20 K in 11.1 IP.

Offensively, all of Somerset's scoring was done on two home runs, the first of which set a Somerset Patriots franchise record.

After Anthony Volpe opened up the first inning with his league-leading 31st double of the season, Everson Pereira drew a walk, setting the stage for Austin Wells.

Wells worked a 12-pitch at-bat that culminated in his 16th total home run of the season, his eighth as a Patriot, and the 176th of the Patriots' 2022 season.

The home run broke Somerset's franchise record of 175, which was set last year, in the team's first season as the New York Yankees' Double-A affiliate.

Brandon Lockridge added to the total, smacking a two-run home run (11) in the sixth inning to give Somerset the last of its five runs.

Nick Ernst earned his third straight winning decision with 2.2 scoreless innings. Aaron McGarity allowed the game's final run in the eighth, before handing the ball off to Carson Coleman.

Coleman pitched a perfect ninth to earn his 16th total save of this season and his 12 with the Patriots.

Somerset's pitching staff struck out 14 total batters on the night, marking the fourth straight game where they've struck out 13 or more.

The win improves Somerset to 72-46 on the season, matching their win total from 2021, when they went 72-47 in 119 games.

The 2022 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home with their 119th game of the season on Sunday afternoon with a 1:05 p.m. first pitch at TD Bank Ballpark.

Yankees No. 8 prospect RHP Will Warren will start opposite LHP Jimmy Robbins for the Fisher Cats.
