AtL Southern Maryland Blue Crabs

York Snags Series Finale

Southern Maryland Blue Crabs News Release

York, PA - The Blue Crabs headed into a crucial series finale with the Freedom Division leading York Revolution, and on a slow night for the bats, the Revs' secured a victory by a score of 3-0.

The scoring for both sides was hard to come by. The Blue Crabs starter Kyle Simon (L, 4-9) allowed a run in the third inning, but worked around a bases loaded jam with just one out. Allowing one run was not at all a worst possible outcome.

The next time runs crossed the board wasn't until the bottom of the fifth inning when a wild pitch brought home York's Wellington Dotel. Later in the frame, Isaias Tejeda, the current Atlantic League batting champ drove in a run, giving the Revolution a 3-0 advantage.

Holding a historically hot York lineup to just three runs in nine innings is more than optimal, but the Blue Crabs bats just couldn't catch up, they were held scoreless while accumulating just five hits in the contest.

The Revolution jumped to four games above the Blue Crabs in the Freedom Division second half standings in a 3-0 victory this evening.

The Blue Crabs will return home Friday August 30th for the series opener of a four game set with the York Revolution, with a 5:05 p.m. first pitch with game two of a double header to follow.
