
Yogo Sets the Tone in Somerset's Powerful Victory Over Reading

The Somerset Patriots won their third straight game on Wednesday night, defeating the Reading Fightin' Phils by a score of 9-3 at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pennsylvania.
The Patriots' pitching staff struck out 17 batters in the game, tied for their most in a nine-inning game this season.
Somerset took off with a 6-0 lead over the first two innings, behind home runs from Ben Rice, Anthony Seigler, Aaron Palensky and Jasson Dominguez.
The performance marked Somerset's eighth four-homer game of the season (8-0 in such games).
RHP Yoendrys Gomez (4.1 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, HR, 11 K) struck out a career-high 11 batters in his 69th career start.
Gomez's 11 strikeouts tied Blane Abeyta and Clayton Beeter (twice) for the most strikeouts by any Patriot in a game this season.
LF Jasson Dominguez (3-for-5, RBI, R, HR, 2B, 2 K) smacked his 14th homer of the season to cap a five-run second inning for the Patriots.
Since July 7, Dominguez leads the Eastern League with 46 H and 14 SB (T-1st), while also ranking among the league leaders in TB (68, 2nd), R (23, 4th), RBI (23, 5th), 2B (8, T-5th), AVG (.336, 6th), OPS (.899, 7th), OBP (.403, 7th) and XBH (13, T-7th).
C Ben Rice (1-for-5, RBI, R, HR, K) opened up the scoring with his ninth Double-A home run and 13th total home run this season in the first inning.
Since being promoted to Somerset on July 18, Rice has played in 23 Double-A games and leads the league in HR (9), RBI (28), SLG (.708), OPS (1.108), TB (63) and XBH (15, T-1st).
RF Aaron Palensky (2-for-3, 3 RBI, R, HR, 2B, HBP, K) led the way with a team-high 3 RBIs in the game.
Palensky has hit safely in each of his last three games, while going 6-for-8 with 7 RBI, 6 R, 2 HR, 2 2B and 1 HBP.
1B Josh Breaux (1-for-4, 2 R, BB, K) extended his season-best hit streak to nine games, in which he is 12-for-35 with 7 RBI, 7 R, and 4 HR.
RHP Alex Mauricio (1.2 IP, 0 R, H, BB, 2 K) topped off the game with Somerset's 17th strikeout of the night.
Over his last six appearances, Mauricio has tossed 8.2 scoreless innings with eight strikeouts, lowering his ERA to 3.24.
