Erie Otters News Release

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League are proud to announce that forward Andrew Yogan was selected by the New York Rangers at the 2010 NHL Entry Draft in Los Angeles Saturday afternoon.

The 6-3, 200-lb. Yogan makes history as the first player to be drafted by an NHL team after working his way up through the Florida hockey system. Before skating in the OHL, Yogan played for travel teams in the Florida Panthers' youth hockey program.

Originally selected by the Windsor Spitfires in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection, Yogan was acquired by the Otters on November 7, 2008. He was picked up in the fourth round (100th overall) by the New York Rangers.

A native of Boca Raton, Yogan has 42 goals and 47 assists in 98 games played with the Otters. He was selected to play in the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Windsor and earned an invite to the United States Junior Development Camp last summer.

The Fund also assists in the educational needs of former members of the Otters following their OHL careers. The tournament also supports numerous charities.
