Stephen Silas Selected by Colorado Avalanche at 2010 NHL Entry Draft Belleville Bulls defenceman Stephen Silas was selected in the fourth round, 95th overall by the Colorado Avalanche at the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Silas becomes the fourth Bull player ever to be taken by the Avalanche at an NHL Entry Draft and first since Cody McCormick in 2001.
Silas finished second in team scoring with Belleville this past season, recording four goals and 49 points in 66 games played. The Georgetown, Ontario native also participated in the Subway Super Series and Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game this past season while also representing Canada at the U18 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Tournament and the World U18 Championship. Silas was the Bulls first round pick in the 2008 OHL Priority Selection.
