Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY -After a disappointing 1-4 start to the af2 season, Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz Head Coach Gary Reasons has made changes to his coaching staff. Line Coach Charles Edmunds has been relieved of his coaching duties and Charles "Sparky" McEwen rejoins Reasons and the Yard Dawgz and will serve as Assistant Head Coach.
"We are attempting to create positive change with our team early in the season," commented Head Coach Gary Reasons. "We are committed to winning and I feel these changes are necessary."
McEwen spent the last three seasons (2005-2007) as the Head Coach of the Grand Rapids Rampage of the Arena Football League. Prior to his head coaching position, McEwen served as Offensive Coordinator under Reasons in 2004 with the Yard Dawgz. That season, Oklahoma City earned a 10-6 record and their first playoff appearance. Oklahoma City also finished 2004 with the af2's second-best scoring team (56.8 points per game), the third-best offensive unit (276.8 yards per game) and third-ranked passing offense (260.8 yards per game).
