TAMPA, Fla. - The offense struggled again for the Tampa Yankees (40-24) as the St. Lucie Mets (32-31) recorded a second-consecutive shutout win, 2-0, on Tuesday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field. The Yankees have not scored a run in 17-straight innings.

Ian Clarkin (L, 5-6) shouldered a tough loss, despite twirling seven strong innings. The southpaw held St. Lucie to one run on five hits, walking a pair and striking out three. Clarkin threw 62 of his 92 pitches for strikes.

Jonathan Johnson broke the scoreless tie with a leadoff home run in the top of the sixth, giving the Mets a 1-0 lead. It was the third homer allowed by Clarkin this season.

Tampa had its best opportunity in the seventh, loading the bases with one out. RHP Domingo Tapia entered and struck out Jake Skole before getting Wes Wilson to pop out, ending the threat.

St. Lucie tacked on an insurance run off LHP Jonny Drozd in the eighth. John Mora singled and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Champ Stuart. Later in the frame, Amed Rosario lined an RBI single to center.

RHP Angel Rincon worked around a pair of hits to toss a scoreless ninth.

LHP Paul Paez and RHP Corey Taylor (SV, 8) combined to toss two perfect relief innings, closing out the shutout for the Mets.
