X's Training Camp Opens Saturday, May 1st

SIOUX CITY, IA - With a roster that currently includes only (7) returning players, the revamped Sioux City Explorers will begin their quest for a 2010 American Association Championship on Saturday May 1st in preparation for the X's 96 game regular season schedule. Outside scheduled team workouts; the team will play a total of five exhibition games with two games to be played right here at Lewis & Clark Park.
The X's will start the exhibition season off with some local flavor with a 7:05 PM contest on Monday, May 3rd that will see the X's play host to the Briar Cliff Chargers at Lewis & Clark Park. The team will then head north the following day to take on Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD with a first pitch set for 7:05 PM. The X's will then welcome the Fargo Moorhead Red Hawks of the Northern League to Lewis & Clark Park on Friday May 7th, with a first pitch set for 7:05 PM. The very next day the X's head back to the State of South Dakota to take on the newly named Fighting Pheasants of Sioux Fall in Huron, SD for a scheduled 2:00 PM game. After a practice day on the 9th, the X's will load up and head to the Lone Star state on the10th and play the El Paso Diablo's in their final exhibition game of the season on Tuesday May 11th with a 6:00 PM (MST) game time. The following day the X's will practice at Cohen Stadium on the 12th, before opening the 2010 regular season in El Paso, TX on May 13th.
