Memphis Xplorers News Release

MEMPHIS, Miss.—Memphis Xplorers defensive specialist LeJuan Edwards and Dahnel Singfield stopped by Southwind Elementary School in Memphis to visit with second-graders.

About 300 students assembled to hear Edwards and Singfield to talk about their careers in the field of professional football. The students listened intently as the players explained different aspects of arena football and how it is played.

Edwards and Singfield also spoke on conflict and fighting.

"Football is a very physical sport and sometimes it can get heated, but we don't take any anger off the field," Singfield said.

The hands began to rise as the players opened up the floor for questions from the audience. Several questions pertained to college. Edwards, a graduate of West Texas A&M, and Singfield, a Buffalo State grad, emphasized the value of going to school and receiving an education.

"Football is fun, but it may not always be what you need," Edwards said. "What can get you through life is an education. Once football is over, you will have that education to go places and to be someone."
