Wranglers Wrap Preseason, Fall 2-1 to Ontario

Las Vegas - In the team's final 2013-14 preseason game, the Las Vegas Wranglers fell 2-1 to the Ontario Reign this afternoon in front of 3,754 fans.
Wranglers (F) Geoff Irwin kicked off scoring halfway through the first period, notching a power play goal at the 11:25 mark. Ontario responded midway through the second, and the game tied 1-1 off the stick of Reign forward Brodie Sheahan.
Two minutes and two seconds after tying the game, Reign defenseman Mathius Joggi jammed a goal off the post to give Ontario their first lead of the night. After a physical third period, which saw a total of 50 penalty minutes handed out, the Wranglers outshot the Reign 38-30 but continued to be denied by goalie Mathias Niederberger. The 2-1 score held, and Ontario skated with the win. Wranglers goalie Travis Fullerton made 28 saves in the loss.
The Wranglers face the Utah Grizzlies on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 7:05 p.m. to open the 2013-14 regular season. The first 5,000 fans through Orleans Arena that night will receive a free magnet schedule.
