Bulls Drop Exhibition Finale to Bakersfield, 4-3

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - In their final preseason game, the San Francisco Bulls lost to the Bakersfield Condors, 4-3 at Rabobank Arena. Jordan Morrison, Brett Parnham, and Josh Kidd had goals for the Bulls, while Kris Belan contributed two assists.
The first period was evenly played. The Condors struck first with a goal from Gary Steffes at 5:35. The Bulls responded in a flurry. Their first goal came from Morrison, his first of the preseason, on a tip-in play in front of the net. The assists went to Darren Rowe and Belan. Just over two minutes later, Parnham beat Bakersfield netminder Tyler Bunz stick-side, with assists coming from Kyle Bigos and Dale Mitchell, giving San Francisco the 2-1 lead. With 8:14 left in the period, Brett Lutes brought the game back to a tie, 2-2. Through 20 minutes, the Bulls held a slim lead in shots, 12-11.
For much of the second period the Condors dominated play. Just 40 seconds in, Nicholas Tremblay gave Bakersfield the lead. In the second half of the period the Bulls started applying more pressure. Josh Kidd capitalized, blasting one from the blueline to again bring the game to a draw at 3-3. Belan was given the lone assist. With just over three minutes remaining, this seesaw game continued after Tyler Brenner again gave the Condors a 4-3 lead heading into the third period.
The Bulls had a late surge, but despite peppering Bunz, went scoreless in the third period, securing the 4-3 win for the Condors. Bakersfield out-shot San Francisco 32-27.
The regular season begins next weekend on October 18 in Alaska, where the Bulls will take on the Aces for the first of a two-game set. It's the start an eight-game road trip to open the season, with the Home Opener coming on November 8.
Bulletins: Brett Parnham and Josh Kidd netted their first goals with the Bulls...Dean Ouellet and Josh Kidd led the team in shots with 4...Darren Rowe was a team-high +2...J.P. Anderson stopped 28 of 32 shots.
