
Wranglers Win Tenth In A Row, Beat Defending Champs 4-3

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Idaho Steelheads 4-3 in front of 3,753 at the Orleans Arena on Thursday morning. Forward Brandon Kaleniecki scored the game-winning goal at 6:56 of the third period to lift the Wranglers to their 10th straight victory. Defenseman Aaron Power scored a goal and added an assist as Las Vegas improved 14-2-0. Defensemen Gerry Burke and Sean Owens each scored in the win. Las Vegas goalie Kevin Lalande stopped 15 Idaho shots, improving 3-0-0. Las Vegas will host Idaho at 7:05 Friday night at the Orleans Arena.
Las Vegas took a 1-0 lead in the first period as defenseman Aaron Power scored his third goal of the season at 4:37. Defenseman Sean Owens netted a power-play goal at 7:09 to push the Wranglers lead to 2-0. Steelheads Winger Galbraith scored his seventh goal of the season at 12:49, trimming the Las Vegas lead to 2-1. The Wranglers regained their two-goal lead when defenseman Gerry Burke scored his third goal of the season with only nine-seconds remaining in the first period.
Idaho pulled within a goal when forward Matt Craig scored his second goal of the season at 10:19 of the second period. Steelheads forward Taggert Desmet tied the game at three, with his sixth goal of the season with only 1:06 remaining in the middle period.
Las Vegas solidified the team's ten-game winning streak as right wing Brandon Kaleniecki scored his seventh goal of the season 6:56 of the third period. Captain Peter Ferraro and center Justin Donati set up the goal, which gave Las Vegas a 4-3 lead.
Las Vegas will host Idaho for a three-game set starting on Thursday at 9:30 am. The two teams will play again on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 pm.
