Bakersfield Condors News Release
LAS VEGAS - G Glenn Fisher made 45 saves to lead the Las Vegas Wranglers to a 5-1 victory against the Bakersfield Condors, before 6,902 fans at Orleans Arena Saturday night.
The Wranglers (19-18-4, 42pts) capitalized on two of their five power plays in the first period, while also adding an even strength goal, to open a 3-0 lead. The Condors (14-24-6, 34pts) out-shot Las Vegas, 11-10, but trailed by three goals through the first 20 minutes.
The Condors out-shot Las Vegas, 14-5, in the second period, but Fisher kept Bakersfield off the board, turning aside each shot he faced to keep the 3-0 lead intact. Through the first 40 minutes, the Condors led in shots, 25-15.
Bakersfield got on the board during a two-man advantage midway through the third period, when F Dave Bonk, on his backside in the slot, swept the puck past Fisher for his 16th goal of the season. However, Las Vegas responded with a pair of goals the rest of the way, accounting for the 5-1 final, despite the Condors out-shooting the Wranglers, 21-8, in the third and 46-23 overall. G Dave McKee made 18 saves in the loss.
