
Wranglers roll in preseason opener 6-1

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Phoenix Roadrunners 6-1 on Thursday night in front of 3,734 fans at the Orleans Arena. Six different goal scorers lit the lamp for Las Vegas, paving the way for a five-goal victory. Rookies Kelly Czuy and Ales Parez each scored a goal and added an assist. Forwards Joe Tallari, Steve Crampton, Marco Peluso and Lucas Lawson also scored in the win. Goaltender Marc Magliarditi picked up the victory, stopping 20 of 21 Phoenix shots in only 30 minutes of action. Forward Tyler Mosienko dished out two assists in his Wranglers debut. Las Vegas will wrap up their preseason schedule with a game Friday night in Phoenix at 7:15 pm.
Las Vegas opened the first period amassing a 4-0 lead. Rookie Kelly Czuy scored an unassisted goal at 8:38 to lift the Wranglers into the lead at 1-0. Winger Joe Tallari doubled the lead with his first of the night at 10:40 from Derek Edwardson and Czuy. Just over a minute later, Ales Parez tipped in a power-play goal to extend the lead to 3-0. Winger Marco Peluso pushed the lead to four with a breakaway goal at 14:43 to finish up the first period scoring spree.
In the second period, Phoenix trimmed the Las Vegas lead to 4-1 when Jeff Kyrzakos scored on the power play just 2:37 into the middle frame. Las Vegas answered back with a power-play goal of their own, when Lucas Lawson redirected a centering pass from Tyler Mosienko at 7:45, making it 5-1 Wranglers.
In the third, Las Vegas scored the final goal of the night when Steve Crampton nudged in a loose puck in front of the Phoenix net for the 6-1 final at 2:43.
The Wranglers will play in Phoenix on Friday, October 13th at 7:15 pm at the Alltel Ice Den. .
The Wranglers play all 36 home games at the Orleans Arena, located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue.
