Wranglers Lend Support to Cell Phones for Soldiers

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers© and defenseman Barry Goers are pleased to announce their involvement with Cell Phones for Soldiers. Beginning with their game on Friday, December 10th, versus the Idaho Steelheads and continuing through the remainder of the season, the Wranglers will be collecting used cell phones for the Cell Phones for Soldiers program.

Cell Phones for Soldiers, a non-profit organization, recycles old cell phones and uses the proceeds to purchase pre-paid phone cards for soldiers serving overseas. Fans are encouraged to ask extended friends and family, places of employment, etc. to donate old phones. Fans who donate their old phones will receive a ticket voucher good for a future Wranglers game.

The program comes to Las Vegas courtesy of Wranglers defenseman, Barry Goers. Goers was previously involved with Cell Phones for Soldiers while in college and made it a priority when he came to Las Vegas.

"You can be the catalyst," said Goers. "Join the Wranglers in making a difference in the lives of our men and women serving overseas. Sometimes a call home is the most important thing."

There will be drop boxes available for donations at the Wranglers Guest Services table, located on the Orleans Arena concourse, at all home games. Monetary donations will also be accepted.

The Las Vegas Wranglers© are the ECHL affiliate to the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes and the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage.

2010-11 prorated season seat packages are on sale now at (702) 471-PUCK. The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at the Orleans Arena, located adjacent to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue.
