Game 7 Recap

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers (4-3) defeated the Bakersfield Condors (3-4) 5-1 in Game Seven of the Pacific Division Semi Finals in front of 3,244 fans Wednesday night at Orleans Arena. Wranglers forward Chris Neiszner notched two goals and an assist as the Wranglers move on to the Pacific Division Finals. Las Vegas goalie Glenn Fisher made 31 saves for his third win of the playoffs. Chris St. Croix, Dan Spang, and Dan Riedel also scored for Las Vegas. Rookie forward Scott McCulloch picked up three assists in the win. Condors' goalie Yutaka Fukufuji stopped 23 of 28 shots in the Bakersfield loss. Forward Mark Derlago scored the only Condors goal.

Playoff Plots

Las Vegas improved to 6-4 in team history when facing elimination and a 2-0 in the Game 7 appearances. Wranglers' goalie Glenn Fisher is 3-1 and ranks third in the postseason with a goals-against average of 1.51. Las Vegas' Dan Spang is tied for the postseason lead among defensemen with three goals and seven points. Spang is also tied for the power-play points lead with five (2ppg-3ppaa). The Stockton Thunder beat the Ontario Reign 5-4 in Game 7 last night, winning the series 4-3 and advancing to the second round to face Las Vegas. The South Carolina Stingrays will now face the Florida Everblades in the second round. Their series starts Friday in Florida at 7:35 pm (EST). Defending Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati defeated the Wheeling Nailers 2-1 in overtime in Game Seven on Monday night in Cincinnati. The Cyclones will face Elmira in the second round with the series starting in Cincinnati on Friday night at 7:30 PM (EST). The West Division Champion Alaska Aces will meet the Victoria Salmon Kings in the second round. Alaska host Games 1 and 2 this Friday and Saturday in Anchorage at 7:15 pm (AST). Wranglers in the AHL

Winger Matt Beaudoin is the last Wrangler on the playoff roster that remains in the AHL.

Beaudoin remains with the Houston Aeros, who lead Peoria in their best of seven series 3-2 after winning 3-2 in overtime of Game Five last night at home. Beaudoin scored a goal and assisted on the game-winning tally in overtime. The second-year forward has a goal and five assists for six points in five AHL playoff games. Game Six is Saturday night in Peoria at 7:00 pm (CST).
