
Wranglers Beat Steelheads 3-2, Take a 2-0 Series Lead

Las Vegas, NV. The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Idaho Steelheads 3-2 Friday night in front of 4,225 fans and take a 2-0 lead in the series. Ryan Christie led the Wranglers with two goals and Chris Kenady scored the game-winning goal with 9:57 left in the third period. Tom Nelson added two assists in the win and Marc Magliarditi stopped 29 of 31 Idaho shots. The Wranglers play the Steelheads in Game Three at Idaho tomorrow night at 6:05 pm.
In the first period, the Steelheads took an early 1-0 on a goal by Dylan Gyori at 6:48. Las Vegas answered back tying the game at one when Ryan Christie scored his first of two on the night at 17:45.
Idaho went up 2-1, when Ben Keup scored on a break away at 12:22 of the second period.
The Wranglers tied the game at two on a goal by Ryan Christie at 8:47 of the third period. Chris Kenady gave the Wranglers the 3-2 lead on a power-play goal at 10:03. Kenady deflected a shot by Jason McBain on the power play past Blair Allison for the game-winning goal.
The Alaska Aces defeated the San Diego Gulls 5-1 on Friday night completing the sweep of the Braham Cup Champions. The Aces will now wait to play the winner of the Las Vegas and Idaho series.
