
Worcester Sharks sign Mathieu Curadeau to PTO

WORCESTER, MA - San Jose Sharks Vice President and Assistant General Manager Wayne Thomas has announced that the Worcester Sharks have signed center Mathieu Curadeau to a professional tryout contract on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Curadeau had 19 goals, 10 assists, and 22 penalty minutes through 40 games with the Fort Wayne Komets of the International Hockey League (IHL). Mathieu recorded three power-play goals, one game-winning goal, one shorthanded goal, and an IHL best plus-minus rating of +21 for the Fort Wayne Komets.
The 23 year old native of Montreal, PQ played at the University of Ottawa and for the Quebec RadioX of the League of North American Hockey (LNAH) last season. He has yet to appear in a game in the American Hockey League.
The Sharks travel to Manchester on Wednesday, Hartford on Friday, and back to Springfield on Saturday. Worcester, Manchester, and Springfield are battling for the fourth and final Atlantic Division playoff spot.
After another road game at Philadelphia, the Sharks return to the DCU Center to face the Manchester Monarchs on Saturday, February 2 at 7:05 p.m. with the first 3,000 fans in attendance receiving a hand-signed Graham Mink Collector's Card. Fans are encouraged to come to the arena early, as Saint John's and Saint Peter-Marian will square off in the First Annual High School Hockey Classic with a 4:00 p.m. contest prior to the Sharks vs. the Monarchs.
