
Zenon Konopka to Appear on WCNY's 'Food for Thought' - January 24

Syracuse, NY (January 23, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that center Zenon Konopka will appear on WCNY's 'Food for Thought' this Thursday, January 24 at 12:30 p.m.
Konopka, along with hosts George Kilpatrick and Chris Xaver, will prepare pierogies. A traditional Polish dish, Konopka is of Polish heritage and the recipe being used is his mother's own. The show will also feature an on-ice segment, with Konopka giving some hockey pointers to 'Food for Thought' co-host, George Kilpatrick.
Konopka, 26, has appeared in 32 games for the Crunch this season, tallying 14 goals, 14 assists and 94 penalty minutes. A native of Niagra Falls, Ontario, Konopka was acquired by Columbus in a trade along with Curtis Glencross and a seventh round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Joe Motzko, Mark Hartigan and a fourth round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft on January 26, 2007. In 29 combined NHL games with Anaheim and Columbus, Konopka has picked up 4 goals, 3 assists and 68 penalty minutes.
WCNY's 'Food for Thought' is a Daily TV talk program that airs Monday-Friday from 12:30-1:00 p.m. and features the people, places and happenings of Central New York communities. Hosted by WCNY Director of Community Affairs, George Kilpatrick and Chris Xaver, the program is rebroadcast daily at 10 p.m. on WCNY2, available on Time Warner Cable in Onondaga and Oswego Counties, and in Cazenovia.
The Crunch's next game is Thursday, January 24 as they travel to Winnipeg to take on the Manitoba Moose at 8:30 p.m. EST.
