Worcester Sharks News Release

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr along with Abigail Williams, the principle of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, announced that the "Be a Leader" program will return to the Elm Park Elementary School in Worcester, MA on Thursday, December 10, from 1:00p.m. to 2:30p.m.

Back in early November, the Sharks, the office of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, and Consigli Construction, rolled up their sleeves and revamped the exterior and interior and of the Elm Park Community School in Worcester as part of the BAL Community Service Day. The reconfiguration of the main entrance, painting of basketball court, construction of new benches, and refurbishing the outdoor walkway, were just some of the projects completed.

Created at the start of the 2007-08 season by the Worcester Sharks and the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, the "Be a Leader" program is designed to provide students in grades 4-6 with leadership tips to enrich their lives as well as others around them. Sharks defensemen Mike Moore and Nick Petrecki, in addition to Finz, the Sharks' mascot, will be present at the school assemblies along with the principle of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, Abby Williams.

Moore, a Princeton graduate who began his career with the Sharks last season, and Petrecki, a rookie and former first round draft choice, will take the lead at the assembly, addressing the students and sharing his insights on being a professional hockey player and how to make healthy lifestyle choices.

"The kids have a lot of fun during the assembly," said Director of Community Relations Michael Myers. "It's not every day that a professional athlete and a mascot visit a child's school. It's a fun way to help guide students to make the right decision in every day life."

This exceptional "Be a Leader" program gathers students in a large assembly format where Moore, Petrecki, Sharks staff, and community leaders will speak to students about leadership qualities and ways to better one's life.

Each participant in the program receives one ticket to an upcoming 2009-10 regular season Sharks home game, an autographed tip card and a "Be a Leader" promotional item compliments of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates.

"My entire staff has really enjoyed being part of this great program," said Abby Williams, principal of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates. "I am excited about the opportunity to share my experiences with children and look forward for the "Be a Leader" program to continue its efforts throughout central Massachusetts."
