(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans Vice President of Hockey Operations Ted Nolan announced today that the team has reassigned forward Colt King to the Rapid City Rush of the Central Hockey League and have released goaltender Ryan Mior from his 25-game professional tryout.

King, 26, made his American Hockey League debut in Rochester's 6-2 loss to the Abbotsford Heat Saturday night and would remain in the Amerks lineup through the weekend. In 18 games this season with Rapid City, King has registered 12 goals and seven assists for 19 points with 58 penalty minutes. Last season, the Calgary, Alberta, native captured career-highs in all offensive categories in goals (28), assists (40) and points (68) in 61 games with the Rocky Mountain Rage (CHL) to finish first on the team in scoring. His 168 penalty minutes were also a team-high that season.

In his professional career, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound forward has amassed 222 points (105+117) and 987 penalty minutes in 328 total games. King was a fourth-round selection (130th overall) by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2001 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Mior, 22, also made his AHL debut this past week with the Amerks and tabbed a 1-1-0 record with a 1.51 goals-against average and a.945 save percentage. Mior collected his first AHL win with a 30-save effort in the Amerks' 2-1 defeat over Abbotsford Sunday night.

A native of St. John's, Newfoundland, Mior compiled a 6-5-2 record with a 2.84 goals-against average and.903 save percentage in 13 games this season with Dayton Gems of the International Hockey League. Mior played for current Amerks head coach Benoit Groulx for two seasons (2006-08) with the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL.

Rochester returns home from its season-long six-game road trip on Friday, December 11th as the Abbotsford Heat make their inaugural visit to the Flower City. The 7:05 p.m. contest will be the third straight meeting between the North Division rivals and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk. The game will also be televised live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet Channel 26. Rochester is 1-1-0-0 this season after splitting a two-game set with the Heat this past weekend in the first-ever clash with the Calgary Flames' affiliate.
