
Worcester IceCats recall Defenseman

Worcester, MA- The Worcester IceCats of the American Hockey League (AHL) have recalled defenseman Chad Starling from the Peoria Rivermen.
A native of Delsle, Saskatchewan, Starling appeared in five games with the IceCats East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) affilate in Peoria. With the Rivermen, he notched two goals and one assist, including his first career professional goal: 5(2/1/3). Both goals occurred in the 7-6 win over Arkansas, with the second coming as the game-winner. The 6'6" defenseman previously appeared in three games for the IceCats at the start of the 2002-2003 season, recording two penalty minutes. Last season, the 22 year old skated in 66 games with the Rivermen, recording 10 assists and 94 penalty minutes: 66(0/10/10)94. He was selected by the St. Louis Blues with their third choice, 114th overall in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
