Manitoba Moose News Release
The Manitoba Moose continue to show their commitment to the community with several special events they have attended and will participate in during this week.
On Tuesday, November 19 at Earl's Polo Park, the team was involved in raising over $12,000 for the Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation during the seventh annual Tip-A-Moose Dinner. Yesterday, the whole Moose team (24 players) plus staff took hourly shifts at the Kenaston McDonald's restaurant during the annual McDonald's McHappy Day. The McDonald's was abuzz with activity and the team assisted in raising awareness and money for Manitobans with Disabilities, Ronald McDonald House (local) and Ronald McDonald Children's Charities.
Later on this week, the team will be involved with a Moose Mingle occurring after the Saturday night game against the Saint John Flames. The whole team will be mingling with fans at Hometown Heroes located at the Winnipeg Arena. On Sunday, November 24, defenceman Bryan Helmer, Jaroslav Obsut, forwards Jason King, Nathan Smith and mascot Mick E. Moose will be travelling to Arborg, Manitoba. The players will be making a special visit to try and raise some money for a local rink and will skate with the local kids and sign autographs during their visit.
In the month of December, the Moose will be involved in the "Skate with the Moose" event that will raise funds for the Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation. The new fundraising initiative will provide local kids the opportunity to skate at the Dakota Community Club and skate with their favorite Moose players. The players will then be participating in the annual Children's Hospital visit that will occur prior to the holiday season.
