
Worcester IceCats Playoff Tix on Sale Tomorrow

WORCESTER, MA - The Worcester IceCats of the American Hockey League (AHL) today announced tickets for the 2002 Calder Cup Playoffs will go on sale Saturday, April 6th at 10:00 AM. Tickets can be purchased at all TicketMaster outlets, including Worcester's Centrum Centre Box Office or charge by phone at 508 or 617 931-2000.
The new playoff format in the AHL calls for the 7,8,9 and 10 seeds to play a three game mini-series. The winners of the best-of-three qualifiers will then earn invitations to the 2002 AHL Calder Cup Playoffs. After tonight, the IceCats have two regular season games remaining. With the IceCats and two other teams holding 84 points, it is undetermined who the 'Cats will face off against or when they will play. Potential scenarios follow:
* If Worcester finishes 5th or 6th in Eastern Conference

Ticket prices for the playoffs will be $15.50 for adults, $12.50 for students (13-18 years old or with college ID) and $9.50 for kids (ages 2-12) and seniors (65 or older). Discount tickets are available for groups of 15 or more. Call 1-800-830-CATS for details.
For IceCats Season Ticketholders, Game 'A' is the first home game, Game 'B' is the second home game and Game 'C' is the third home game. The 'Cats regular season concludes Sunday afternoon with a special family friendly 4:05 PM start versus the Portland Pirates at Worcester's Centrum Centre.
