Worcester Doubles-Up Pittsfield 6-3

Pittsfield, MA - The Pittsfield Colonials fell to the Worcester Tornadoes 6-3 at Wahconah Park in Pittsfield, MA on Wednesday night.

Colonials' starter Trevor Marcotte (4-4) took the loss over two and two-thirds innings allowing four earned runs on eleven hits whle picking-up four strike-outs.

Pittsfield's Quentin Davis (1-for-3, HR) smacked a pinch-hit solo homer in the game while Jerod Edmondson (1-for-4, 2B, RBI) shipped in with an RBI double.

Tornadoes' starting pitcher Zach Zuercher (1-2) earned his first win of the season going six innings allowing three runs on five hits, two walks and five strike-outs. Reliever Rick Asadoorian (2) earned the save pitching a scoreless ninth inning.

Worcester third baseman Mark Minicozzi (3-for-5, HR, 4 RBI) enjoyed a three hit game, while designated hitter Nick Salotti (1-for-5, HR, 2 RBI) belted a two-run homer. First baseman Chris Colabello (2-for-5, 2 RBI) drove in a pair of runs for the winners in the game. Right fielder Stantrel Smith (2-for-4, RBI) had the winning RBI single in a four run first inning for the Tornadoes.

The Colonials will conclude the three game set with the Worcester Tornadoes on Thursday at Wahconah Park in Pittsfield at 7:05pm when righty Miguel Flores (5-3) takes the ball against Worcester's John Kelly (7-2).
