Worcester Assigned Goaltender

WORCESTER, MA---The Worcester IceCats today learned that goaltender Phil Osaer has been assigned from the St. Louis Blues, Worcester's National Hockey League (NHL) affiliate.

The 6'1, 190 lb. Osaer appeared in 29 games for the Blues and IceCats East Coast Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen. While with Peoria, the Livonia, Michigan native compiled a record of 16-11-2, with a 2.43 goals against average and a .913 save percentage. A former Ferris State University goaltender, he was selected by the Blues in the seventh round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

The IceCats open the 2002 exhibition slate this Friday in Danbury, CT against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The 'Cats then travel to Portland for a Saturday evening tilt against the Pirates. Worcester's first exhibition features a 6 PM game with Bridgeport at the Wallace Civic Center in Fitchburg, MA on Sunday, September 29th. On October 4th at the New England Sports Complex in Marlboro, MA, the IceCats play host to the Albany River Rats. That game begins at 7 PM. Tickets are on sale for both IceCats 'home' exhibition games are on sale now at the respective venues and the IceCats Team Shop, located at 105 Commercial Street.
