
D-Man Keith McCambridge Added to Aeros Roster

HOUSTON - Houston Aeros President and General Manager Dave Barr announced today that the club has signed defenseman Keith McCambridge to an American Hockey League contract for the 2002-03 season. Per team policy, terms were not disclosed.
"Keith is another strong, physical defenseman with proven leadership abilities. He adds necessary qualities on the ice and in the locker room," said Barr.
McCambridge, 28, spent the past two seasons with Providence (AHL), and served as the Bruins' captain in 2001-02. In those two seasons, he played 122 games and collected two goals and eight assists for 10 points and had 478 penalty minutes. He also played in 12 playoff games with the Bruins and collected 23 penalty minutes.
The Thompson, Manitoba native will be playing in his eighth professional season. He has spent his entire career in the American and International Hockey Leagues. In 412 professional games, McCambridge has totaled 12-27-39 and 1205 penalty minutes. His best season as a pro came with the Saint John Flames (AHL) and Las Vegas Thunder (IHL) in 1997-98 with career-highs in goals (4) and points (9). He also had a career-high five assists which he matched in 2000-01 with Providence.
Houston's training camp begins Monday, September 30. The Aeros now have four players under contract: C Sylvain Cloutier, D Remi Royer, LW Jeremy Stevenson and McCambridge, along with 15 players assigned by Minnesota.
