
Woodchucks Stay Hot and Win Third Straight

Wausau, WIS - The Woodchucks came into this afternoons game on the road facing Rockford Rivets looking for their third straight win and fifth win in the last six games. The Chucks fell behind early 2-0, but came back and won the game 6-2.
The Chucks fell behind early 2-0 in the 1stinning but came right back in the top of the 3rdwith an RBI single from Chucks centerfielder Jaren Shelby to make it 2-1.
The Woodchucks also added two runs in the top of 4thwith Reese Alexiades scoring on a wild pitch and a RBI walk from Brandt Broussard to give the Chucks a 3-2 lead after four.
Chucks Starter Branson Hall pitched very well going five innings allowing just two runs and six strikeouts
The Chucks added some insurance in with an RBI double from catcher Dom Derenzo to make it 4-2
Two runs came home for the Chucks in the top of the 7thfrom an error making the score 6-2 after seven.
Chucks Relievers Drew Holweger and Frank Frate combined with four scoreless innings to keep the lead at bay and shut the door down.
The Chucks held on for the 6-2 win and won their third straight game and their fifth in the last six games.
Top Performers
Woodchucks catcher Dom Derenzo had quite the day at the plate going 2-3 with an sinlge, an RBI double and he reached base four times with two walks.
Chucks second basemen Brandt Broussard got on base four times going 2-2 with two singles and an RBI walk.
Chucks Relievers Drew Holweger and Frank Frate combined with four scoreless innings to keep the lead at bay and shut the door down.
