Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters lost two tight games against the Madison Mallards in their previous series. The Rafters now fall 15-20 on the season. Today, The Rafters will face the Green Bay Bullfrogs who are 12-24 on the season. Wisconsin Rapids and Green Bay are tied up in the 2018 series 1-1 with the Rafters winning the most recent matchup.

Three Rafters appear in the Northwoods Offensive Leader Boards. Steven Rivas (Long Beach State) is currently tired for first with eight home runs. He also ranks 7th in RBI with 27. Jack-Thomas Wold (UNLV) ranks 5th in RBI with 28. The final Rafter to appear in the standings is Brody Wofford (Central Florida) who has six home runs, tying him for fifth in the Northwoods League.

On the bump for the Rafters is lefty pitcher Gareth Stroh (Purdue). The 6'1" junior sports a 1-1 record and a 2.14 ERA so far with the Rafters. In 21 innings pitched, Stroh has only given up seven walks and 17 hits as well as striking out 17 batters. This will be his fifth start of the season.

Pitching for the Bullfrogs is Will Shirah from Georgia Tech. This will be the freshman's fourth start but fifth appearance of the season for the Bullfrogs. He has a 1-1 record, 6.00 ERA and has struck out 14 batters in 12 innings pitched.

This is the first game of the second half of the 2018 Northwoods League season and first pitch is slated for 3:05 p.m. at Witter Field. The Rafters head to Green Bay tomorrow to face Bullfrogs at Joannes Stadium.
