Woodchucks Drop Close One in Mequon to Chinooks

Wausau, WIS - The Woodchucks came into tonight's game in Mequon looking for their fifth win in a row opening a two game series with the Lakeshore Chinooks. The Chucks fell behind in the early going and though they did rally to cut into the deficit, the Chucks rally came short and they fell 4-2

After the Chinooks scored four runs in the first two innings to take a 4-0 lead, the Woodchucks answered right back in the top of the 3rdinning with a two run RBI double from the hot hitting centerfielder Zach DeLoach to make it 4-2 after three.

The Chucks also answered with an RBI single from first basemen Alex Toral in the top of the 6thand that trimmed the lead to make it 4-3.

Chucks reliever Frank Frate was outstanding in relief going 5 and 2/3rds innings not allowing a run and striking out five.

Top Performers

Woodchucks centerfielder had a nice night at plate going 2-4 with an two run RBI double.

Chucks first basemen Alex Toral added an RBI single in the top of the 6thinning.

Chucks reliever Frank Frate was outstanding in relief going 5 and 2/3rds innings not allowing a run and striking out five.
