Rafters Visit Dock Spiders' Web Again

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (17-20, 2-0 2nd half) continue the road trip tonight visiting the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (21-16, 0-2 2nd half) at Herr-Baker Field. Last night, the Rafters outmuscled the Green Bay Bullfrogs by a final of 11-7 at Joannes Stadium.

Wisconsin Rapids hit three home runs total on the night. Jack-Thomas Wold (UNLV) went 4-for-4 and was a triple shy of the cycle with a single, double and two home runs. Steven Rivas (Long Beach State) kept pace with Tyler Plantier of the Madison Mallards by hitting his ninth home run of the season to remain tied for the league lead.

Tonight, the Rafters will play their fifth game against the Dock Spiders in 2018. The Rafters will wrap up their appearances at Herr-Baker Field with games tonight and tomorrow in Fond du Lac. The Dock Spiders finished 3rd in the South Division in the first half but are 0-2 to start the second after being swept by the Kingfish at home. The Rafters enter tonight tied for first in the South Division with Battle Creek, Kalamazoo and Kenosha all at 2-0.

Taking the mound for Wisconsin Rapids is Brecken Lewis (1-1, 3.80 ERA). This will be the fifth start for the righty out of Dixie State. Lewis in 23.2 total innings has struck out and walked 13 with 25 hits against him. Lewis' last start was the Kingfish on June 30th. In his second quality start of the summer, Lewis struck out five Fish in six innings allowing just two runs.

Fond du Lac will counter with Sam Hubbe (2-0, 2.45 ERA). Hubbe has logged 22 total innings this season with the Dock Spiders. In those 22 innings, he has allowed 23 hits, struck out 14 and walked seven. First pitch from Herr-Baker Field is 6:35 pm CT.
