
Woodchucks Bats Fuel Win in Green Bay

Wausau, WIS - The Woodchucks came into this evening's game in Green Bay opening up a two game series against the Bullfrogs looking to start the road trip with a win. The Chucks struck first and didn't look back holding on for the 7-2 victory.
The Chucks struck first with designated hitter Jaren Shelby coming home to score on a wild pitch in the top of the 1st inning to lead 1-0.
The Woodchucks offensive came alive in the top of the 5thinning as a RBI groundout from leftfielder Zach DeLoach and a two run homer from third basemen Javier Valdes gave the Chucks a 4-0 lead.
Chucks Starter Zach De La Garza pitched very well making his first start of the season. He pitched four innings striking out two and not allowing a run.
The Bullfrogs added two in the bottom of the 5thto cut into lead 4-2 but the Chucks came right back to score two in the top of the 6thwith an two run RBI single from Zach DeLoach to make the score 6-2 after six.
Chucks Reliever Frank Frate continued his dominance from the bullpen going three scoreless innings holding the Chucks lead.
Javier Valdes added to his big night with an RBI single in the top of the 9thinning to make the score 7-2 heading to the bottom of the 9thinning.
Chucks closer Lenny Gwizdala came in to shut the door down and give the Chucks their third win in four games.
Top Performers
Woodchucks centerfielder Jaren Shelby had a great night at the plate going 2-3 with a walk, stolen base and a run scored.
Chucks right fielder Zach DeLoach continued to stay hot at the plate with a three RBI night going 1-5 with an RBI groundout and a two run RBI single.
Chucks third basemen Javier Valdes was a big part of the offense going 2-4 with a two run home run, and RBI single, and a walk.
Chucks Reliever Frank Frate continued his dominance from the bullpen going three scoreless innings holding the Chucks lead.
