
Woodchucks Add Standout Catcher

(Wausau) - This week, the Woodchucks are excited to announce the addition of Levi Meyer to their 2012 roster. Meyer is currently a sophomore at Iowa Western Community College who recently signed a scholarship to play at Florida Atlantic University this fall.
Meyer, a catcher, was outstanding in his freshman year at Iowa Western. He earned all-region honors and helped lead his team to the Junior College World Series. During the season he hit .350 with 9 home runs, 47 RBI and 12 doubles, earning him the districts most valuable player award.
This season, Meyer has continued his hot hand at the plate. So far this year he is batting a blistering .679, with 13 RBI and 2 home runs. Meyer's batting average is good for second nationally among junior college players and has helped Iowa Western earn a 4th overall ranking among Division I junior college teams.
