Wolves Sign Van Buskirk

The Chicago Wolves have signed defenseman RYAN VAN BUSKIRK. In addition, the team has released defenseman COLIN PETERS.

The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, native was held scoreless in two preseason games with the Wolves this year. He ranks third among Gwinnett Gladiators (ECHL) defensemen with nine points (G, 8A) in 19 games.

Last season, VAN BUSKIRK registered career-highs with 13 assists and 15 points in 27 games with the ECHL's Florida Everblades.

The 24-year-old blueliner has accrued four assists, six points and 78 penalty minutes in 63 American Hockey League games with the Springfield Falcons (1999-2000) and Portland Pirates (2000-2003). He also recorded 32 assists, 39 points and 209 penalty minutes in 121 ECHL games with the Richmond Renegades (2000-01 and 2002-03), Florida and Gwinnett.

PETERS was held scoreless in his Wolves debut on Friday against the Milwaukee Admirals.
