Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

WINNIPEG, MB - The Hamilton Bulldogs had their four-game winning streak snapped, as they lost a 4-2 decision to the Manitoba Moose at the MTS Centre on Saturday night.

Hamilton's record now stands at 11 wins, 12 losses, 4 ties and one overtime loss.

The Moose jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period. Ryan Kesler earned a goal on the power play at 15:49 by tipping Kevin Bieksa's point shot. Then Josh Green scored Manitoba's second goal by one timing a Peter Sarno pass into the Bulldogs goal at 17:56.

After a scoreless second period, Bulldogs forward Steve Ott got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard with a great individual effort at 4:12 of the third period. Ott drove hard to the Moose goal, was dragged down to the ice, but still managed to fire the puck over Wade Flaherty.

However, Manitoba's Jeff Heerema would score the eventual game-winner at 9:24 as he collected a Ryan Kesler rebound and shot the puck into an open Bulldogs goal.

Andrei Kostitsyn would add a goal for the Bulldogs at 16:23 with assists from Trevor Daley and Gavin Morgan.

Lee Goren would round out the scoring for the Moose by adding an empty-netter at 19:35.

In goal, Bulldogs netminder Yann Danis made 18 saves and took the loss. Wade Flaherty earned the victory for Manitoba by stopping 23 Bulldogs shots.
