(Erie, PA) - SeaWolves fans braved the cold conditions this past Saturday to be among the firsts to purchase 2008 individual game tickets during TICKETPALOOZA. The cold weather also did not hinder the generosity of the community in support of the Erie City Mission.

The SeaWolves offered two ticket packages on Saturday with all proceeds benefiting the Erie City Mission. Between the ticket offers and fans donating $1 for extra spins on the ‘Wolves prize wheel; the SeaWolves were able to raise nearly $1,000 towards the City Mission.

In addition to the money raised, fans donated 70 boxes of cereal benefiting the Erie City Mission After School Program. Fans who donated cereal received a free ticket to Opening Day.

"The Erie SeaWolves are wonderful neighbors. We are so grateful for the partnership and support. Each $100 raised provides a free hot lunch to a hungry man, woman or child; or houses 4 homeless men for a night. The SeaWolves truly make a difference in the lives of Erie's homeless and hungry." - Lisa Nietupski - Erie City Mission Director of Development

"We were very pleased at the efforts of our fans to help benefit such a worthy cause. This was the fourth season of teaming up with the City Mission and each season, the response from our fans increases." - John Frey, Erie SeaWolves General Manager

The 14th season of SeaWolves baseball begins on April 3, 2008 when the team opens at Bowie (Baltimore Orioles). The ‘Wolves 2008 home opener is April 10, 2008 against the Binghamton Mets (New York Mets). For ticket information, contact the SeaWolves at (814) 456-1300.
