Wolves Fall to Fronts

The Sudbury Wolves fell 5-2 to the Eastern Conference leading Kingston Frontenacs Sunday afternoon. The Frontenacs jumped out to an early lead and never looked back.

The Wolves fell behind early against the Frontenacs when Warren Foegele scored five minutes into the period. Jared Steege then finished off a nice passing play less than 2 minutes later to give the Frontenacs a 2-0 lead. The Wolves killed off a couple of late penalties to keep the game within reach. After the 1st period, shots on goal were 16-5 in favour of Kingston.

The goals came early and often in the 2nd period. Kingston opened up a 4-0 lead before the halfway mark of the period. The Wolves then got on the board when PATRICK MURPHY scored a highlight reel goal on the powerplay. KYLE CAPOBIANCO and ZACK BOWMAN were credited with the assists on the play. A minute after the Wolves' goal, Kingston responded as Jason Roberston scored his second goalof the period. Sudbury added one more before the period ended as DAVID LEVIN started a nice rush and ALAN LYSZCZARCZYK finished off the play to make it a 5-2 game. After 40 minutes, the shots were 32-17 for the Frontenacs.

The Wolves were unable to come back in the final period of play, but were able to hold off the Frontenacs from increasing their lead to make it a 5-2 final for the Frontenacs. Four minor penalties in the period limited the Wolves ability to obtain sustained pressure in the attacking zone. Final shots were 42-25 in favour of Kingston.
