Wolves Earn Overtime Win in Exhibition Play

Left wing Yannick Veilleux rifled a wrist shot top-shelf 2:31 into overtime to lift the Chicago Wolves to a 6-5 exhibition victory Friday night at Triphahn Ice Arena in Hoffman Estates.

Right wing Ty Rattie's goal with 1:41 remaining in regulation --- his third of the night --- sent the game into extra time. Forward Shane Harper added a pair of third-period goals for the Wolves while defenseman Nicholas Rioux and forward Terry Broadhurst handed out three assists apiece.

Wolves goaltender Jordan Binnington rejected 28 of 33 shots as he played 62-plus minutes. Iowa's Johan Gustafsson posted 20 saves on 26 shots.

The Wolves play their fourth exhibition in four days when they host the Milwaukee Admirals at 7 p.m. Saturday at West Meadows Ice Arena in Rolling Meadows. Tickets are $7 at the door.

Chicago launches its 21st season on Saturday, Oct. 11, when the Charlotte Checkers visit Allstate Arena at 7 p.m. Some tickets remain for the opener via ChicagoWolves.com or Ticketmaster.com.
