"This is an incredibly exciting time for the Phantoms," said Phantoms executive vice president Chris Porreca. "We're now just two weeks away from regular season Phantoms hockey at PPL Center. It can't get here fast enough!"
The Phantoms' 2014-15 regular season features 38 home games to be played at the brand-new, state -of-the-art PPL Center, which will seat approximately 8,500 fans for hockey games this year. Of the Phantoms' 38 total games at home, 27 will come on weekend dates, including 10 Fridays, 14 Saturdays and three Sundays.
The Phantoms are coming off an incredibly successful, sold-out Battle on Hamilton last Saturday evening, which featured a mixed-squad game between the Phantoms and Flyers in an arena jam-packed with orange-clad supporters of all ages. Fans were even lined up by the hundreds at entrances around the arena hours before the doors officially opened.
"The support the Lehigh Valley has shown us so far has been absolutely amazing," Porreca said. "We know the Battle on Hamilton was just the first of many sold-out Phantoms games at PPL Center this year and can't wait to see first-hand just how loud and supportive Phantoms fans in the Lehigh Valley can be."
The Phantoms continue their 2014 preseason tonight in Hershey with a 7:05 PM showdown against the Bears before concluding exhibition action tomorrow in a 7:05 PM contest at PPL Center against the Albany Devils.
Opening Night for the inaugural regular season of Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey at the spectacular, new PPL Center is Friday, October 17 against the Adirondack Flames!
