MILWAUKEE---The Chicago Wolves used three power-play goals in the third period to skate away with a 5-1 win over the Milwaukee Admirals at Wilson Ice Arena Friday night.

Chicago (1-1-0-0) center Kevin Doell led the way with two goals and an assist, while forwards Riley Holazpfel (G, A) and Johnny Pohl (G, A) also posted multiple points.

Milwaukee (0-1-0-0) netted its lone goal on a five-on-three power play 4:27 into the third period when Ian MacKenzie looped around the back of the net to beat Wolves netminder Kevin Armstrong.

Armstrong made five saves on six shots in 20:00 minutes of action, while netminder Peter Mannino (1-0-0) thwarted 21 shots in the first two frames for Chicago.

The Wolves took the lead with 1:23 remaining in the first period with a goal from Holzapfel. Pohl was battling along the boards and chipped the puck out to Holzapfel, who moved in to the right face-off dot and fired a wrist shot past Milwaukee goaltender Chet Pickard.

Pickard (0-1-0) made 14 saves in 30:10 of action, while goaltender Jason Smith stopped five of eight shots in 29:50 between the pipes.

Chicago made its lead two with a tally from Doell at the four-minute mark of the second period. The forward picked up the puck in the left face-off circle and fired a shot, which found its way through traffic past a screened Pickard.

The Wolves took advantage of power-play chances in the third to break the game open, logging power-play goals by forward Andrew Kozek, Doell and Pohl.

The teams will meet again tomorrow night when Chicago wraps up its preseason slate at the Hoffman Estates Community Center and Ice Arena on Sat., Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.
