Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves will kick off their 15th home opener with a banner raising ceremony to commemorate the team's fourth league title in 11 years, and a tailgate party at the Allstate Arena before the puck drops against the Peoria Rivermen on Sat., Oct. 18, at 7 p.m.
Fans can enter the tailgate -- which runs from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Southwest Parking Lot -- with their game ticket. The party will feature the band "Billy Ray Valentine," set to perform at 3 p.m., interactive games and an appearance by Skates, the Wolves mascot. Additionally, fans can enjoy soft drinks provided by Pepsi and hot dogs courtesy of Vienna Beef and Chicago Baking, while supplies last.
Fans also can explore the Animal Care and Control's Animobile -- a mobile adoption unit and clinic previously purchased and donated by Wolves Chairman of the Board Don Levin, throughout the tailgate.
Inside the arena, it's also an Adopt-a-Dog night. Fans can visit "Brian's Barking Buddies" - named after Wolves defenseman Brian Sipotz, the team spokesman for the program - in the East Lobby by the Customer Service Booth. This marks the first of six appearances the Adopt-a-Dog program will make at Wolves games this season.
The special pre-game ceremony, to help fans re-live the magic of the Calder Cup Championship, will begin at 7 p.m. before the 2008-09 Wolves take to the ice.
The first 10,000 fans to enter the game will also receive magnetic schedules for the Wolves regular-season, sponsored by Pepsi.
