
Wolves Battle Griffins in West Division Semifinal

The Chicago Wolves begin their quest to claim their second Calder Cup in three years  and their fouth championship in team history  when they face the Grand Rapids Griffins in a best-of-seven series beginning at the Van Andel Arena on Fri., April 16, at 6:30 p.m., and Sun., April 18, at 5 p.m.
Games 3 and 4 will be held in Chicago at the Allstate Arena on Wed., April 21, at 7 p.m., and Fri., April 23, at 7:30 p.m. If necessary, the Griffins will host Game 5 on Sat., April 24, at 7 p.m.; the Wolves will host Game 6 on Mon., April 26, at 7 p.m.; and the series will return to the Van Andel Arena on Wed., April 28, at 6 p.m.
The third-seeded Wolves, who are making their 10th consecutive playoff appearance, posted a 4-4-0-2 mark against the second-seeded Griffins this season. Chicago has faced Grand Rapids in the postseason three times in the last four years, winning two of those series, which includes besting them, 4-games-to-2, in the International Hockey League¹s 2000 Turner Cup Finals. The Wolves defeated the Griffins, 3-games-to-2, during the Western Conference Quarterfinal in the 2002 Calder Cup Playoffs before losing, 4-games-to-0, in the conference semifinal last season.
